Our café

Our Bright Beginnings café is a place where parents and caregivers can experience the joy of a shared space, meet friends or make new ones!

Our café is open Monday - Thursday 10 - 4pm. Our friendly team of volunteers run the café, including baking delicious cakes and homemade snacks. Occasionally, we operate self-service, when tea, coffee, cake and snacks are available. We accept card payments.

The café is also the venue for some of our drop-in sessions, plus our playroom is available for caregivers to enjoy with their children (when not being used by the creche).

Other facilities

Outdoor Space

Our café has direct access to our outdoor area, which has picnic tables, some children’s toys and is surrounded by nature. It is a lovely space to relax in and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Playroom

Café customers are very welcome to use our playroom if it is not being used for the creche. We have a range of toys and activities, plus an adjoining outdoor area, to keep little ones entertained.

Sensory & Reading Area

Our relaxing sensory and reading area is available to use at any point when you visit the Children’s Centre.

Creche

Our caring volunteers run a free creche to enable parents and caregivers to attend specific groups (Blossoming Through, Mellow Mums, Yoga). The creche is held in the playroom, whilst the parents meet in the room next door.

Bright Beginnings - Teresa Bott

Teresa Bott

Teresa has been with Bright Beginnings since November 2016 and has expanded the Children’s Centre and its services to what it is today. Teresa has a Diploma in Community Welfare Work and has a wealth of experience in social care. Locally she has worked for the Committee for Health and Social Care as a Residential Support Worker, Contact Supervisor and Family Support Worker before joining Bright Beginnings. She also has a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is trained in Birth Trauma Resolution.
