We focus on developing secure attachment between children and practitioners. Each child is assigned a keyworker, ensuring that all children feel safe and secure whilst in our care and that strong bonds can be developed.
Secure attachment impacts hugely on a child’s healthy brain development and is necessary to ensure successful social, emotional and academic learning both in the early years and throughout childhood.
The work of the Nursery & Preschool ensures excellent foundations are in place for children to lead healthy and happy lives.
Our curriculum is bespoke to each age group and covers babies, toddlers and preschool. Children are observed and assessed on a regular basis to ensure they are making developmental progress. Some of our children have additional needs and our Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo) conducts assessments and refers on for support where required.
Our ALNCo is supported by our highly trained team of practitioners who conduct regular observations of all our children in order to track progress and report to caregivers.
Our trauma informed team have close professional relationships with health visitors, social workers, child development staff and Speech and Language therapists and key staff regularly attend Child Protection case conferences, Child Development Service meetings and Team Around the Family meetings. We also work closely with the States Early Years Team, who provide regular training and advice.
Our staff are required to undertake continuing professional development in all areas of child development, safeguarding and health and safety.
We encourage caregiver involvement every step of the way to ensure that the children progress in all areas and to help them achieve the best start possible.
Through the ‘Famly’ app we are able to communicate regularly, sharing information, daily reminders and photographs of the activities the children take part in whilst in our care.
