Teresa has been with Bright Beginnings since November 2016 and has expanded the Children’s Centre and its services to what it is today. Teresa has a Diploma in Community Welfare Work and has a wealth of experience in social care. Locally she has worked for the Committee for Health and Social Care as a Residential Support Worker, Contact Supervisor and Family Support Worker before joining Bright Beginnings. She also has a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is trained in Birth Trauma Resolution.

Theraplay Practitioner
Rosy has a BSc (Hons) in Social Work and Applied Social Studies, as well as a PG Diploma in Community Case Management. She began her therapy training through attending the Institute for Arts and Education and gained a PG Certificate in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts. She gained a PG Diploma in Play Therapy with Play Therapy UK and also has an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Bath Spa University.
As one of Guernsey’s only qualified Theraplay practitioners, we are very lucky to count Rosy as part of the Bright Beginnings’ team. Rosy is passionate about supporting families from as early as possible to enable their children to flourish and reach their full potential. She works with caregivers to ensure they are able to enjoy their child and feel confident in their relationship and connection with them.

Toddler Room Practitioner and Assistant SENDCO
Lois is based in Toddler Room and will be working alongside Karyn as Assistant SENCO to support our children with additional needs. Whilst at college, Lois had the opportunity to gain experience working with children from 3 months–7 years in a variety of different settings. Lois achieved her Level 3 qualification in August 2023 and has training in Food Hygiene, Safeguarding Children and Young People and Paediatric First Aid.
Toddler Room Practitioner
Carolyn has a wealth of experience and qualifications in health and social care. She has worked with children and young adults with social, emotional and mental health needs and in a unit for young mothers and their babies. Carolyn also owned a soft play business for 6 years before becoming a childcare practitioner.

Ceejay gained her Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Work Force in July 2024. She has many years of experience working with children through coaching gymnastics and trampolining. Ceejay leads within the Nursery & Preschool on the Healthy Schools initiative, in conjunction with Schools Early Years Team and the Health Improvement Commission.

Preschool Room Leader
Maddie gained her Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Work Force in May 2018. She leads on ‘Language for Literacy’ which helps parents engage their preschool aged children in developing the building blocks of reading and writing.

Toddler Room Leader
Jade has always had an interest in working with children and has achieved her Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Work Force. Jade has experienced working alongside children in different settings whilst training at college and has been with Bright Beginnings for over five years. She has training in Level 2 Safeguarding Children and Young People and Infant and Child First Aid Training.
Nursery and Preschool Deputy Manager, Deputy Safeguarder and Baby Room Leader
Lisa has an NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing and over 20 years of experience in looking after children aged 0-18, including private nannying, Nursery Manager, crèche supervisor and children’s residential support worker. Lisa is our first link to new families as she leads on the Family app.

Zoe supports in the creche, which enables parents to ensure their child is well cared for while they attend the various services available through Bright Beginnings. Zoe has lots of experience with children and is a crucial part of the creche team.

Joanne runs our creche, which enables parents to ensure their child is well cared for while they attend the various services available through Bright Beginnings. Joanne manages our creche volunteer team, who enable us to provide this crucial facility, as well as being integral to our Stay and Play sessions. Joanne has lots of experience with children and is a huge support to both the staff and the families who visit the Children’s Centre.

Lizzie’s specializes in providing antenatal care to expectant families and facilitates our Born Ready programme. Lizzie is passionate about helping families during pregnancy and beyond to ensure that the first 1001 days of life (conception – 2 years) are successful.
Lizzie also shares her experience and advice through Mellow Parenting, Mums’ Comfort Zone and in her 1:1 sessions with individuals or couples. Through working with parents using trauma informed practice Lizzie has ensured that many more children have the best start in life.
Family Wellness Practitioner
Amy has worked for Bright Beginnings since the early days of 2017, having relocated with her family to Guernsey from the UK and bringing with her over 10 years’ experience of working within UK based children’s centres. In 2018 Amy co-developed our Beyond Blue Parental Mental Health Service. This service has been, and continues to be, a fundamental support to families on the island.
Along with leading Beyond Blue and Mellow Parenting, Amy delivers Baby Massage classes, the Nurture group, Blossoming Through and Mums’ Comfort Zone. She has recently developed her 1:1 approach in supporting families through trauma informed care. Amy offers Therapeutic Coaching, which incorporates her qualifications in Trauma Recovery Coaching and Compassionate Inquiry. Amy is passionate about supporting families throughout the perinatal period to ensure strong foundations for children's lives.
